- I am a 53 year old licensed clinical social worker. I enjoy working with teens and adults. I also work with couples. I have never met a person or a family without strengths and resiliency. My heart is with all four of you today. Today is nearly the end of a long month plus of self sacrifice...I cannot imagine having to spend today the way you all are having to. After having a child that Vanderbilt "owned" the first two and a half years of her life and "co-owned" until until she was five, (they still have a vested interest in her as we probably built the first three floors of the new hospital from our own bank account!!), my heart goes out to you. You will both find places and strengths inside of you that you never knew existed. You don't need to worry about where the strength will come from, just know - and TRUST - that it WILL come. I realize that if you knew a month ago what you were facing today was going to happen you would say "There is no way I could ever do that!!" But you are. And you have no choice in the matter. And that really does suck - to put it mildly!! I know how surreal this all must be. My prayers are with you. Cry when you need to, scream if you must, feel the despair that you will - but don't forget how to laugh along the way. You will need that laughter to sustain you and so will Adam. Anna
We'll be thinking of you even more today guys! Prayers and well wishes coming your way in abundance. Keep your spirits up and remember that God's plan is the only real plan. I'm sure He gets a chuckle when He hear's about our plans....
